1. Avlägsna endast den överödiga askan (alltså inte
all aska) . Observera att det kan nnas glödande
delar kvar i askan upp till 24 timmar efter att elden
slocknat. Töm alltid asklådan i ett brandsäkert kärl.
Ordna en maximal lufttillförsel och öppna spjället. Se
även gur B.
3. Lämna en springa vid luckan öppen.
Genom att lämna en springa vid luckan öppen strax
efter du tänt kaminen förhindrar du kondens på rutan.
Kondens på rutan ger äckar som är svåra att ta bort.
2. Placera tändblocken mitt i eldstaden. Bygg
en pyramid av brasved runt braständarna. Tänd
tändblocken.
Genom att välja brasved i rätt storlek och av rätt
typ, företrädesvis ljus, nhuggen ved, kan värme
snabbt genereras. Ju snabbare kaminen når högre
temperaturer, desto snabbare genereras drag och desto
mindre sot och kondens (kreosot) uppstår. Detta bidrar
till renare kamin, rökkanal och miljö.
