5. Close the door once the ﬁ re is burning

almost completely.

Leaving the door slightly ajar after

lighting prevents creosote from depositing

on the glass. Creosote causes stains that

are difﬁ cult to remove.

required. NB: There may still be glowing

embers present in the ash for up to

twenty-four hours after the stove has been

put out. Always empty ash remains into a

ﬁ reproof container.

while adding wood.
