3. IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• Please read this manual carefully before using the device. Afterwards, keep this booklet for reference.
• If you resell the appliance, provide this booklet with the appliance.
• This device may be used by children 3 years of age and older and by persons with reduced physical, sen-
sory or mental capacity or lack of experience provided they are supervised or instructed in the safe use of
the device and have understood the resulting hazards.
• Children may not play with the device.
• Children may not carry out cleaning and user maintenance tasks unless they are aged over 8 and are
under supervision.
• Children under the age of 3 should be kept away from the appliance and the power supply cable.
• Do not use the appliance in the event of obvious defects, on cable or connector.
• If the mains cable is damaged, it should be replaced by the manufacturer, its customer service department
or a similarly qualied person in order to prevent hazards.
• Mains voltage must match the voltage quoted on the underside of the appliance.
• Never use the appliance without water in it.
• Do not move an appliance containing hot liquid.
• Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquids.
• Do not use it outdoors.
• The appliance may not be operated with an external timer or a separate remote control system like a remo-
te control socket, for example, because the appliance should never leave unsupervised during operation,
so that you can intervene in good time if it malfunctions.
• Only use the appliance in a domestic environment. Incorrect use involves potential hazards to the user.
• Set up the appliance so that it is steady and level and so that your child cannot tip it over or pull it o󰀨 the
table or kitchen counter by its cable.
• The appliance should never be placed in the vicinity of hot surfaces,in heated ovens or in the vicinity of gas
or electrical appliances, as this may cause damage to the appliance.
• To protect you against an electric shock, the cable should not come into contact with water or cooker hot-
plates.
• After use unplug the appliance from the mains to prevent it from being inadvertently switched on.
• Do not move an appliance containing hot liquid.
• Beware of hot water splashes when the water is boiling. For protection, always use the steam lid to close
the BF55 top tray.
• In the event of improper use or use not in accordance with the instructions, the warranty will become void
• Use only the accessories supplied with this product.
