ADVICE
If the appliance still does not start after
the second attempt, follow the instruc-
tions for the choke.
Switching the pump off
Set the throttle lever (15) to "SLOW".
Set the ignition switch (10) to "OFF".
Close the fuel cock (13).
Close all the shut-off devices in the pressure
line.
MAINTENANCE AND CARE
DANGER!
Always switch off and secure the engine
before starting adjustment, maintenance
or repair work.
Pull off the ignition cable, and keep it away
from the spark plug.
Remove the spark plug cap before starting
maintenance and cleaning work
Do not spray the machine with water! Pene-
trating water (ignition system, carburettor...)
can lead to malfunctions.
Clean the appliance after every use
Observe the maintenance schedule
Observe the operating hour or annual inter-
vals, whichever comes first
More frequent maintenance is necessary
when the appliance is used under more se-
vere operating conditions
Flushing the pump
After conveying swimming pool water containing
chlorine, or fluids that leave a residue, the pump
must be flushed out with clear water.
Carburettor setting
ADVICE
Carburettor adjustments may be carried
out only by authorised specialist work-
shops or by our customer service.
Ignition spark control
ADVICE
Sparks may cause fire or an electric
shock.
Use a suitable spark tester
Never test ignition sparks with the spark plug
removed
Changing the air filter
Clean the air filter regularly. Renew air filters if da-
maged.
1. Remove the air filter cover. For this, loosen
the bolt, and remove the cover.
2. Remove the foam filter, and wash it in warm
soapy water. Re-insert only when dry.
3. Put back the air filter cover.
Changing the oil
Check the oil level regularly.
Check the oil level every 8 operating hours or
every day before starting the engine (see "Oil re-
commendations").
WARNING!
Risk of fire and explosion from es-
caped fuel!
The fuel tank must be drained before
draining the oil.
ADVICE
Drain off the old oil when the engine
is warm. Warm oil runs out quickly and
fully.
1. In order to empty the fuel tank, run the engine
until it stops because it has run out of fuel.
2. Remove the spark plug connector (2).
3. Use a suitable container to catch the oil.
4. Unscrew the oil dipstick (9).
5. Unscrew the sump drain plug (8).
6. Allow the oil to run out completely into a con-
tainer.
7. Screw the sump drain plug (8) back in, ensure
that the seal is correctly positioned, and tigh-
ten firmly.
8. Fill with fresh oil.
9. Check on the oil dipstick (9) that the oil level
reaches the "MAX" mark.
10. Tighten the lid firmly, and remove any possi-
ble traces of spilt oil.
ADVICE
Dispose of old oil in an environmentally
safe manner.
Servicing the spark plug
CAUTION!
Electric shock hazard!
Never test ignition sparks with the spark
plug removed.
