TMA-1을 디자인함에 있어서 주요 포커스는 헤드폰 류의 아이콘화 와

사용자들에게 일종의 장비처럼 보이고 사용할 수 있게 하는 점 이었습

니다. 가능한 한 불필요한 요소들을 배제하고, 헤드폰의 구성요소들 중

기능성과 외형적 디자인의 필수적 요소들만을 남기는 디자인으로 탄생

한 헤드폰입니다. TMA-1의 디자인적 포인트는 서로 다른 요소들의 복

합적 관계 입니다. 이러한 관계를 통해 하나의 DNA로 탄생한 느낌의 디

자인이 완성된 것입니다.

WHY TMA -1?

TMA-1의 모델명은 Stanley Kubricks의 사이언스 픽션 영화 ‘2001: A

Space Odyssey’에서 차용하였습니다. TMA-1 (Tycho Magnetic Anom-

aly-1)은 미국 우주비행사들에 의해 발견되었으며, 달의 표면 티코 크레

이터에서 발생하는 자기장의 불규칙을 말합니다. 암석기둥 달 표면의

40feet 아래 박혀있는 검은 기둥덩어리(Monolith)가 불규칙을 야기합니

다. 고대에 알려지지 않은 외계인 종족이 존재했으며, 그들은 은하계를

넘나드는 세계를 만들기 위해 큰 크리스탈 기둥덩어리의 힘을 사용하

게 됩니다. 그리고 더 나은 삶을 위한 계발을 위해 기둥덩어리의 힘을

사용합니다. 기둥덩어리는 오랜 시간 존재했으며, 이론적 한계를 뛰어

넘는 물질 강도 실험을 견딜 정도로 견고한 물체입니다.

AIAIAI의 TMA-1 헤드폰은 검은색의 DJ용 헤드폰으로 이 이름이 적합

하다는 판단을 하게 되었습니다. TMA-1의 계발에 있어 가장 중요한

입니다.
