Flashing alternately with the screen above, indicates the number of new answering
machine messages recorded and the number of new caller display records received.
6 INSTALLATION
1. Locating the base unit (see P2 and P3).
The base unit should be placed on a level surface, in a position where:
tThe mains adapter plug will reach an easily accessible 210 - 240 V AC mains supply socket - never try
to lengthen the mains power cable.
tThe telephone line cable will reach your telephone line socket or extension socket.
tIt is not close to a sink, bath or shower, or anywhere else where it might get wet.
tIt is not close to other electrical equipment - fridges, washing machines, microwave ovens, TVs,
fluorescent lights, etc.
2. Plug the coiled handset cord into the handset. Plug the other end into the socket on the side of
the base unit.
3. Place the handset on the base unit.
4. Plug the telephone line cord into the phone line socket at the back of the base unit. Plug the other
end into your telephone line socket or extension socket.
5. Plug the power supply cord into the power jack at the back of the base unit. Plug the other end
into a 210 -240 V AC, 50 Hz socket.
6. Wait while the display shows “INITIALISATION”, then the announcement “Answering machine on.
Announcement one.” before the display changes to the standby screen.
7. Lift the handset and check for dial tone in the handset.
Note:
tThe base unit doesn’t require a battery.
tAlways use the telephone line cord supplied with your phone.
