1. Operating instructions
The installation and use of electrical appliances must be carried out with due caution in order to avoid the risk
of fire, electric shock or injury. The equipment must only be used as described in these instructions. Any use
outside of the manufacturer recommendations could lead to damage, fire, shock or injury.
Before using the appliance the instructions should be read in their entirety and all appropriate handling of the
equipment must be observed.
These instructions should be kept safely and passed on to any future owner.
In the event of any repair work, hand them to the qualified installer for his attention.
1.1 Unit description
The TBG heating mat from AEG serves as a pleasant source of warmth for parts of living and working areas
that are cold to walk on. Simply laid down on the cold floor, it quickly exudes a feeling of cosiness and com-
fort.
When unpacking, take care to ensure that no accessories remain behind in the packaging material.
Always store the mat in a dry condition and without any creases or folds.
Initiation
This heating mat is only to be connected to an AC mains 1/N 230 V ~ 50 Hz by means of the attached plug.
The mat may only be used when spread out flat, always unfolded.
When used for the first time, this heating mat can give off odours, but these disperse after a short time.
Examine the heating mat before use for any foreign bodies that may have penetrated into it, e.g. drawing pins,
needles, etc., and remove any that you find. (Caution – before examining the mat you must pull the plug out.)
The heating mat is water-proof and dirt-repellent and has a durable and hard-wearing upper covering made
of PVC.
The appliance should never be used in damp environments or in exposed outdoor locations.
When transporting the appliance, under no circumstances should it be carried by the mains electrical cable.
1.2 Operation
To use the heating mat, place it flat on the floor at the desired location and insert the plug into the power
socket.
The heating mat should no longer be used if damage is visible on its surface.
1.3 Safety instructions
The heating mat must not be operated
in rooms where there is a risk of fire or explosion due to chemicals, dust, gases or vapours;
in the immediate vicinity of pipes or containers which carry or contain combustible or potentially
explosive substances;
Disabled persons, infants and persons who are insensitive to heat should not use the appliance.
To prevent overheating, do not cover the heating mat.
Do not tread any sharp or pointed objects into the heating mat or pierce it with needles. Never secure the
heating mat to the floor using nails, screws or similar fixing materials.
Do not drill through the heating mat and make sure that the product is not damaged by sharp or pointed
objects.
Do not use the appliance to warm animals.
Never make modifications to the appliance.
Never leave the heating mat unattended when it is switched on. Do not switch the appliance on using remote
switches or automatically by means of devices connected upstream of the appliance (e.g. room temperature
controllers).
Special care must be taken if the heating mat is used in the presence of children, frail persons or animals.
Risk of injury!
Do not use the heating mat if an appliance component is damaged or there has already been malfunction.
