Read these instructions prior to using the device.
Carefully remove the device from its packaging.
Content of packaging
The packaging should contain the following:
• MP3 player
Stereo ear phones.
USB connection cable.
• Operation manual.
Windows 98SE driver CD.
Inserting the battery / MP3 player
(Batteries not supplied)
1. Open the battery compartment (5) to the rear of the device
by sliding the battery cover toward „
̄
“ OPEN .
2. Once the battery compartment’s cover is open, fold it up.
3. Place 1 Micro battery, type R03 “AAA” 1.5V in the compart-
ment. Observe the correct polarity (see inside the battery
compartment lid)! If the device is not used for a longer
period of time, remove the battery to prevent the battery
from leaking acid fl uid.
4. Close the cover of the battery compartment until you hear it
catch.
Inserting the battery / Loudspeaker
(Batteries not supplied)
1. Open the battery compartments (15) on the back of the
loudspeakers.
2. Insert 4 batteries of type R03 „AAA“ 1,5 V. Please ensure
that the polarity is correct (see the inside of the battery com-
partment)! If the device is not used for a long period of time,
remove the batteries to avoid the spilling of battery acid.
3. Close the battery compartment covers again until they are
heard to click into place.
CAUTION:
Batteries must not be disposed of as regular household
waste. Please return used batteries to the respective
collection points or to the retailer.
Never throw batteries into an open fi re.
Different types of batteries of new and used batteries must
not be used at the same time.
Operating the Loudspeakers by the Mains Adapter
(not supplied)
Please use a standard commercially available 6 V / 400 mA
power pack.
Insert the power pack into the 6 V DC connection (16) pro-
vided and then into a correctly installed 230 V/50 Hz power
socket.
ޥ NOTE:
If you use rechargeable batteries in the loudspeakers these
can be recharged. Turn the POWER CHARGE/OFF/ON
switch (13) to CHARGE.
WARNING:
Please ensure that there are no batteries inserted into the bat-
tery compartment, as otherwise there is a danger of explosion!
Only the correct rechargeable batteries should be used!
How to Install the Driver
Minimum system requirements:
Pentium 133 MHz or more
Microsoft ® Windows ™ 98 SE/ME/2000/XP/
Server 2003
RAM 20 MB
USB Port (2.0)
If your computer runs on Windows 2000 or a more recent sys-
tem, your MP3 player does not require any particular software or
drivers. However, the device does require the latest service pack
version to be installed. In the event of problems try to install
the current Microsoft service pack for the respective operating
system. For this, go to:
http://www.microsoft.com.
ޥ NOTE:
Important: Windows 98SE users must install the driver prior
to hooking up the device with the PC. The PC may have to be
restarted. WIN 98 rst edition is not supported.
Place the supplied CD driver into the CD-ROM drive of
your PC.
Click on ‘Driver’.
Follow the instructions on how to install.
Connecting the MP3 player with your PC
1. Connect the MP3 player using the USB connection cable,
with your PC.
2. Insert the smaller USB connection into the USB jack (10)
of the MP3 player and the other end into a vacant USB
connection of your PC.
3. Once the connection has been successfully established the
display will read “VER 100”.
4. The MP3 player is displayed as a removable medium and
can be used as such.
5. To store and export fi les, proceed as stated in the operating
software of your PC.
6. Once the fi les have been transferred, fi rst unlog the MP3
player from your PC. Proceed as stated in the operating
software of your PC to safely remove the hardware.
ޥ NOTE:
Never remove the MP3 player from the PC during data
transfer. This even applies if the data transfer should
come to a halt. To separate the MP3 player from the PC,
follow the notes of your PC software to safely separate
hardware, i.e. the removable medium.
