Operation – for users and qualied contractors
WARNING Burns
Never operate this appliance...

explosion as a result of chemicals, dust, gases

ammable or explosive materials.
if work such as laying tiles, sanding or sealing
is being carried out in the installation room.

ucts are handled.
Observe the minimum clearances (see chapter
"Specication").

Never place any objects on top of the appliance.
Never lean any objects against it or place any
objects between the appliance and the wall.
Never place any ammable, combustible or in-
sulating objects or materials, such as laundry,
blankets, magazines, containers with oor pol-
ish or naphtha, spray cans or similar, near the
appliance.
CAUTION Burns
Parts of the appliance can get very hot and may
cause burns. Particular caution is advised when
children or vulnerable persons are present.

The grille also remains hot after the appliance is
switched off.
Never touch the quartz tubes.
Never adjust the pivoting angle of the appliance
in use.
Never cover the appliance.

Ensure that the power cable is never in contact with
the hot appliance, other parts or sharp edges.

See type plate. The type plate is located at the back of
the appliance.
3. Appliance description
The appliance only warms the air slightly. It is only when
it hits objects or the human body that the IR radiation is
converted into heat. You will feel the heat after just a few
seconds.
The appliance is made completely from stainless steel.
The appliance can be exposed to normal environmental
inuences.
4. Operation
4.1 Switching the appliance on without
Hirschmann plug-in connection
» Start the appliance by pushing the power plug into its
socket.
4.2 Switching the appliance on with
Hirschmann plug-in connection
» If not already in place, connect the power cable to
the cable with mains plug.
» Start the appliance by pushing the power plug into its
socket.
4.3 Switching the appliance off
» Switch off the appliance by pulling the power plug
from its socket.
5. Cleaning, care and
maintenance

Material losses
Never spray the appliance with water.
Never touch the quartz rods with ngers, other-
wise spots could form or the quartz rods could
be damaged.
» Isolate the appliance from the power supply and let it
cool down.
» A damp cloth is sufcient for cleaning the casing.
Never use abrasive or corrosive cleaning agents. Go
over with a soft cloth.
» Regularly clean the reector through the grille using
a paint brush.
Let a contractor clean the reector if it
is heavily soiled to retain the full level of heat radia-
tion of this appliance.
» The heating tube (gold tube) has a maximum ser-
vice life of approx. 5000 hours. It is subject to the
operating conditions, such as the relative humidity,
switching frequency and the orientation of the radiant
heater.

What to do if...
... you notice a smell
For a short time after rst taking the appliance into
use as well as after longer breaks in use, a smell
may develop.
... the appliance does not radiate heat
Check whether the fuses/MCBs have blown/tripped
or are faulty.
If you cannot remedy the fault, notify your contractor. To
facilitate and speed up your request, provide the number
from the type plate (000000-0000-000000).
