FLUCTUACIÓN DE PRESIÓN SANGUÍNEA NORMAL
Cualquier actividad física, excitación, estrés, comer, beber, fumar, postura corporal y muchas otras
actividades y factores (incluyendo tomar una medición de presión sanguínea) afectan al valor de la presión
sanguínea. Por ello, es poco habitual obtener múltiples lecturas idénticas de presión sanguínea.
La presión sanguínea fluctúa continuamente --- día y noche. El valor más elevado aparece normalmente
de día, y el más bajo normalmente de noche. Habitualmente, el valor comienza a aumentar alrededor
de las 3:00 AM, y llega al nivel más alto durante el día, cuando la mayoría de personas están despiertas y
activas.
Teniendo en cuenta la información anterior, se recomienda que mida su presión sanguínea a aproximada-
mente la misma hora cada día.
Una medición demasiado frecuente puede provocar hridas por interferencias en el flujo sanguíneo,
relájese un mínimo de entre 1 y 1,5 minutos entre mediciones para permitir que la circulación de sangre en
su brazo se recupere. Es raro obtener lecturas idénticas de presión sanguínea cada vez.
