User operations
About user operations
User operations are the interactions a viewer has with your project using the remote control. You can disable user
operations to prevent the viewer from making an inappropriate choice. For example, you can disable user operations
to prevent the viewer from fast-forwarding through the FBI warning.
You can disable user operations for a disc, its timelines, and its menus. The operations you can disable vary,
depending on the asset. For example, you can disable the Previous and Next chapter buttons for a timeline, but not
for a menu, because that operation applies only to timelines.
Disable or edit user operations
1 Do one of the following:
Choose Timeline > Set Timeline User Operations.
Choose Menu > Set Menu User Operations.
Choose File > Set Disc User Operations.
In the Project panel, select a timeline or a menu, or click in a blank area to select the disc properties, and then click
the Set button in the Properties panel.
Note: Disabling user operations at the disc level disables that operation in DVD elements too. You can, however, enable
a function at the disc level and then disable it for specific menus, timelines, and other elements.
2 In the User Operations dialog box for the timeline, menu, or disc, select All, None, or Custom and the desired
options. Then click OK.
Custom options for timeline user operations
Play Timecode Lets the viewer enter a timecode to play or search for.
Stop Lets the viewer stop playing the disc.
Rewind/Fast Forward Lets the viewer rewind and fast-forward the disc.
Pause Lets the viewer pause the disc.
