Indice de masse corporelle (IMC)
L’IMC indique le rapport entre la taille et le poids et ne constitue qu’une valeur
indicative et approximative. Selon l’Organisation mondiale de la santé (OMS), l’indice
optimal se situe entre 18,6 et 25.
Les hommes disposant généralement d’une proportion de masse musculaire
supérieure à celle des femmes dans l’ensemble de la masse corporelle, l’âge et le sexe
jouent un rôle important lors de l’interprétation de l’IMC.
