8.5 Follow Me Parameters
8.5.1 General
With the GSM-Interface, you can send voice messages and text messages (SMS
texts) to up to 8 contact telephone numbers. To define the contacts, you specify
their telephone numbers for transmission over an analogue telephone line (PSTN).
You define settings for a possible GSM transmission in the dialling code settings.
8.5.2 Dialling code settings
With the interface function, you can simulate an analogue telephone line over the
GSM network. If the analogue telephone line fails or if no analogue telephone line is
available, the device automatically switches to GSM operation.
This is often useful if the GSM-Interface is connected with an alarm centre that
sends protocols to an emergency service. Possible protocols are the normal
European standards Contact ID and SIA.
The dialling code settings are necessary if transmission is by GSM network instead
of PSTN. Because of codes needed for getting an outside line, dialling codes, etc.,
it is important to make the right settings for transmission to be successful.
IMPORTANT:
You will find the dialling code settings in the GSM software under
“General>>>Extended Menu or under “10.2.2 Parameters” in the SMS commands.
