Description
The GewaLink transmitter IR-5SO is a 16 channel trans-
mitter with a group switch to select dierent channel
groups. The transmitters can also transmit a coded
channel with 4096 dierent combinations where strict
authorization control is required.
Function
When the transmitter is activated, IR signals are trans-
mitted from the transmitter to the IR receiver which is
then activated. If the receiver is installed indoors the
transmitter normally does not need to be directed
towards the receiver. When used out-doors however,
and if the transmitter is far away from the receiver, the
transmitter has to be turned in the direction of the re-
ceiver. IR signals are ob-structed by walls and solid ob-
jects. The transmitter range varies from 10 to 30 metres
depending on the light conditions.
Function Switch
Use the function switch to select the channel areas for
the transmitter. See enclosed table! By de-pressing the
group switch it is possible to access dierent channel
groups, that correspond to the setting of the function
switch. The selected channel group will be indicated
by 1 of 4 control lamps for channel group. Older Ge-
waLink area is between channel 16-31.
Selecting the Code
The switch consists of 12 DIP switches which can be
"on" or "o". The same combination should be used for
the receiver and the transmitter. In case the receiver
only has 10 switches, position 11 and 12 must be "on".
(Applies to older receivers.)
Battery
The transmitter uses a 9V alkaline battery. To obtain
maximum transmission and to avoid leakage it is im-
portant to use Alkaline batteries only. Be careful when
inserting the battery. It is important that the polarity is
correct. The indicator lamp goes out when it is time to
replace the battery.
For battery change and channel settings,
open the transmitter by undoing the
screw on the rear side.
