Distinctive Features of the Communications System
When you operate an Aastra 673xi / 675xi on the OpenCom 1000 communications
system, some functions deviate from how they are described in the installation
guide and in the user guide.
This applies especially to functions which are provided locally on the device as
well as via the OpenCom 1000 communications system. In these cases, the func-
tions provided by the communications system are used. The corresponding local
device menus will not appear then.
The Aastra 673xi / 675xi does not offer call forwarding. This means that in the
simplified Options menu the item 1.Call Forward is not available (please refer
to The Options Menu starting on page 38). Use the call forwarding function of
the OpenCom 1000 communications system (please refer to Call Forwarding
starting on page 21).
Aastra 673xi / 675xi SIP Telephones
9
The Aastra 673xi / 675xi does not save any call numbers in the local caller list
nor does it offer a local phone book. Configure function keys instead to access
the callers list (Caller Lists starting on page 19) and the phone book (please
refer to Phone Book starting on page 21) of the OpenCom 1000
communications system.
The Aastra 673xi / 675xi has a separate Web interface. If the administrator of
the OpenCom 1000 communications system so desires, this can be activated
(see Aastra 673xi / 675xi Web Configurator starting on page 29). Using this Web
interface, you can possibly programme function keys concurrently and thus
delete or overwrite the keys and functions configured via the OpenCom 1000
communications system.
If a function key has been programmed using the web interface of the
Aastra 673xi / 675xi, for example, this cannot be overwritten through a
configuration from the OpenCom 1000 communications system. In order to
cancel concurrent programming, delete the programming either via the
Aastra 673xi / 675xi Web interface or delete the local configuration on the
Aastra 673xi / 675xi (please refer to Deleting a Local Configuration starting on
page 34).

Menu entries in the Aastra 673xi / 675xi Web Configurator
The Aastra 673xi / 675xi Web Configurator allows you, e.g. to conveniently con-
figure speed dialling destinations on the Keypad: Speed Dial page.
Especially the telephony functions and key assignments available under Softkeys
and XML as well as under Programmable Keys are designed for universal use
with communications systems by various manufacturers. Please note possible
conflicts with the configuration of the OCW (please refer to Web Configurator of
the OpenCom 1000 starting on page 28 and Deleting a Local Configuration
starting on page 34).
Configuring the Aastra 673xi / 675xi
31
Please refer to the separate user guides for a detailed description of functions for
each model of the Aastra 673xi / 675xi (see page 8 also).
Note
You should preferably use the Web Configurator of the OpenCom 1000
communications system for configuring the telephone as the functionality is
optimally coordinated. The “Directory List” function of the Aastra 673xi / 675xi
Web Configurator requires technical skill to configure and a corresponding
internet service. Instead, configure the “Ph.Book” function in the OCW, in order to
be able to use the XML key phone book function of the OpenCom 1000
communications system.
Function Keys Reference
Depending on the device type there are various types available and a varying
number of function keys available (please refer to Models of the Aastra 673xi /
675xi product family starting on page 1).
Note
By activating up to four levels, the assignment capacities of each softkey are
multiplied on the Aastra 6755i and on the Aastra 6757i.
With the OCW as a user of the OpenCom 1000 communications system you can
configure and change the following function keys for your Aastra 673xi / 675xi.
